In this engaging 90-minute watercolor class, participants will explore the artistic concept of diptychs and triptychs—artworks made from two or three images designed to be displayed together as a unified composition.
Students will create several small, bookmark-sized watercolor paintings using professional artist-grade paints and 100% cotton watercolor paper. Working at a small scale allows participants to experiment freely with color, texture, and simple subject matter.
After completing several miniature paintings, each participant will select their two or three favorite pieces and arrange them into a diptych or triptych. This process encourages creative decision-making while demonstrating how individual artworks can work together visually through color, theme, and composition.
No prior watercolor experience is required. The class focuses on creativity, relaxation, and the enjoyment of painting in a supportive environment.
Participants will leave with a small collection of watercolor studies and a finished diptych or triptych ready for display or gifting.

You are invited to enjoy the beauty of painting with soft pastels, whether you are trying them for the first time or you are an experienced artist. Soft pastels are made with the same pigment as watercolors or oils, but formed into a stick rather than applied as a liquid. They are still called paintings if most of the paper is covered with pastel pigment.
During the 2-hour class, students will experiment with different types of soft pastels and paper to discover what methods and styles of painting help them develop confidence and creativity. In this session, we will emphasize painting with variations of blue to create a Sea & Sky landscape. All materials will be provided to complete a 4”x 6” painting (frame not included).
Helen Kleczynski been painting with soft pastels for over 20 years. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America and has achieved Master Circle Status with the International Association of Pastel Societies. She enjoys teaching in small group settings to help each student find their inner artistic voice.
