Senior Arts - Memory Wire Bracelet

Memory wire holds its shape, similar to a Slinky. Sliding beads on is easy and the finished product looks like a stack of bracelets. They are great for children to play with or to go with an outfit. They can be fancy or simple, with or without added charm(s). You will learn to use pliers to curl the ends to keep the beads from falling off! No skills needed. The challenge will be in selecting from a fine assortment of beautiful beads, but jewelry artist Bobbe Kelley will be there to provide assistance!

Nancy Smith has designed this relaxed and beginner-friendly class for those with little to no experience. This class will introduce you to professional-grade watercolor materials in a fun and supportive environment. You’ll learn the basics of water-to-paint ratio, color application, and how to embrace the natural, spontaneous flow of watercolor. This is the 2nd of 4 monthly sessions on watercolor techniques. Although Nancy has been introducing new ideas in each class, no class is a prerequisite for any other class.

Senior Arts - Playing with Clay
TUE, AUG 5, 1:00 – 3:00 pm

You will start with a 6x6” clay slab and a lot of options! Make a trivet, a wall hanging, a stepping stone for your garden or smaller ornaments using cookie cutters! Our expert potter, Veronica Levin from Hot Flash Pottery will inspire you with materials and ideas to create a one-of-a-kind piece just for you or for gifting. After creating your piece in clay, you will paint with underglaze. Veronica will finish them off at her studio with a top glaze and fire in her kiln. Finished pieces will be ready for pick up at the senior center by Thursday, 8/21. No skills needed!
